Changes to the eye dose limit
One of the biggest changes in the new legislation is the occupational dose limit for the
lens of the eye which will reduce from 150 mSv pa to 20 mSv pa averaged over 5 years
with no single year exceeding 50 mSv. Anyone who may exceed this dose limit will
need to be classified. |

KIMS brings together a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide the highest standards of medical treatment. KIMS is a 800 bedded Super Specialty Hospital – NABH ,NABL,ACHSI Accredited Hospital. Here I have gained academic experience in both routine and specialized work by being part of a multidisciplinary team. The hospital provides all Radiographic investigations to service users nationally and internationally who require to be provided with care of high standard. I am competent in performing routine and complex diagnostic radiological procedures in the following modalities :
RADIOGRAPHY: Perform all routine and specialized studies in X-Ray. Fluoroscopic procedures like Intravenous Pyelogram, Hysterosalpingography, Micturating cysto-urethrogram, Retrograde urethrogram, Barium swallow, Barium meal, Barium enema, Barium meal follow through, Barium double contrast, Gastrografin studies, Dacrocystography etc. Calming patients down and making sure that they fully understand how the procedure works Covering the patient(s) with protective materials to avoid secondary-exposure to radiation, which is harmful
COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY: CT Coronary Angiogram (Cardiac CT), CT Pulmonary Angiogram, Bolus Tracking/Smart Prep Method, Routine scans such as Brain, PNS, spine, orbit, abdomen, chest, joints, extremities, HRCT temporal bone & Chest& 4D CT for parathyroid scans, carotid, hepatic, abdominal, renal, arteriogram, venogram, virtual bronchoscopy, colonoscopy with 3D reconstruction, CT Peripheral Angiography (Runoff), CECT Abdomen Triple phase (for Liver) and Dual phase, CT Urogram, This vast pool of procedures helps me equip with skills and expertise to master these key procedures and manage heavy workloads without compromising the quality of service and test procedures even while working under pressure. The high number of patient turnover helps me learn how to deal with culturally diverse patient population and adapt to their needs and requirements in a professional manner. I am currently working in 950+ bedded tertiary care hospital and medical school from past two years in rotation in Xray units, mobile xrays units, MRI, fluoroscopy and CT scan that includes brain, neck, abdomen and pelvis, cystography, trauma and non trauma and all type of CT angiography , around 35-40 patients in 6 hours shift. I also assist team of radiologist in CT guided biopsy and FNAC procedures.

Maintain high standard of patient care and assessment.
To maintain patient records.
Maintain ALARA while performing the procedure.
To actively take part in clinical audit.
