I have six months working experience of Radiology department at Apollo Adlux Hospital. This multi-speciality hospital has 300 licensed beds. The department of radio diagnosis is well equipped with 3T Siemens Magnetom Spectra MRI, Canon Aquilion Prime SP 160 slice CT, Digital Radiography (Prorad 3 N Prognosis) Mobile Digital Radiography (Samsung GM 85) and BMD (Hologic Discovery-Wi).
I have 2 year and 3 months working experience of Radiology Department at Dr.Moopens Medical College & Hospital. This is a 700 bedded Multi specialty Hospital where the Radiology department is equipped with a PHILIPS 1.5T MRI, SIEMENS emotion 16 Slice CT and CR X-Ray unit. The Department has 5 Consultant Radiologists and 15 Radiographers. The daily turn around averages 200-250 X-rays including bedside X-Rays and Operation Theatre Radiography(C-Arm), 15-20 CT Scans including special studies like angiograms and 15-20 MRI Scans.
At my current role as radiographer, I am rotated around various units including MRI ,CT, X-Ray, Theatre Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Mobile Radiography and Trauma imaging. I am competent in undertaking X-Ray/CT Imaging and I have performed routine studies including CT Guided Bone Biopsy ,Lung Biopsy, Fluoroscopy guided Barium Swallow, Barium Meal , Barium meal follow through(BMFT), Barium Enema, Micturating Cystourethrography (MCU), Retrograde Urethrography (RGU), Intravenous Pyelography (IVP) and Fistulography. I have good imaging acquisition skills and I am competent in practical applications of learned knowledge. I have good working knowledge of radiation physics and I follow ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle while performing all investigations. I am also an active participant in the quality control program implementation of the department.
I am responsible for maintaining the departmental records that includes a register for all modalities, procedure consent forms, incident reports, critical reports, daily checklist regarding status of the machine and it's calibration, Radiological Personnel protective equipment and its periodical quality assurance, Number of re do's in X-Rays, Radiation dose monitoring and optimization especially for infant/paediatric, co-ordinating training sessions, Radiation safety classes for new joiners, patient feedback, daily/weekly/monthly financial statistics of the
department, radiology material stocks and consumptions of departmental usages etc.
I always strive to be very attentive and carries out his responsibilities in a manner expected of my position. I am well versed with NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Health Care providers) Standards and I always try to help making the department patient friendly. My professional approach begins with double checking the patient identification with the wrist band and cross checking with the requisition slip. I am confident in correlating with past medical history and clinical symptoms, and explains the procedure in polite, comforting and encouraging words. I make sure that I work in accordance with standard operational
protocols of the department.
I have experience in Multi-disciplinary teamwork consisting of Doctors, Nurses and various Therapists. Working in this capacity allows for the sharing of experience, ideas, knowledge and skills. There were several occasions that I was able to contribute to the Multi-disciplinary group with the nursing expertise. I have always welcomed collaboration with various professionals in providing patient centered care.

I suggested that we should divide the subtopic into each member to work on it separately and work individually on 5 topics like CT, MRI, X-ray, mammography, DEXA, etc. I encouraged more members to chime in. 2 of the group members didn't initially embrace my proposal. but, we consider everyone's opinion & start working on the project. We worked hard as a group, received positive feedback from our professor, and got an A.
I have Hands-on experience in the following radiographic Skills: -1. Conventional Radiography, Special Investigations like HSG, IVP, RGU, MCU, Gastrograffin/Barium Investigations, ERCP, Pic line insertion, Sialography, T-tube cholangiogram, PTC etc. 2.
