C arm : As a radiographer with experience in operation theatre imaging, I have had the opportunity to work with C-arm equipment in orthopaedic, urology, and vascular studies. In the orthopaedic operation theatre, I have used the C-arm to perform real-time imaging during surgical procedures such as joint replacements and spinal surgeries. I have assisted the surgeon by adjusting the equipment and positioning the patient to obtain the best possible images, while also ensuring their safety.
In the urology operation theatre, I have used the C-arm to guide the placement of catheters and other devices during procedures such as biopsies and stent placements. I have also used the equipment to perform real-time imaging during other urologic surgeries, ensuring that the surgeon has the best possible view of the surgical field.
In the vascular operation theatre, I have used the C-arm to guide the placement of catheters and other devices during procedures such as stenting and embolization. I have also used the equipment to perform real-time imaging during other vascular surgeries, allowing the surgeon to make precise adjustments and ensure the success of the procedure.
Throughout my experience in these areas, I have worked closely with the surgical team to ensure that the C-arm imaging is performed safely and accurately. I have also monitored the patient's vital signs and responded quickly to any changes in their condition. Overall, my experience with C-arm equipment in operation theatre imaging has been challenging but rewarding, as it has allowed me to play a critical role in ensuring the success and safety of surgical procedures.
I am proficient in using PACS and RIS in proper manner and familiar with IT systems such as RIS, HIS, Tele-Radiology, DICOM system etc.
I am prompt and accurate in carrying out procedures and reporting to the radiologist.
I am familiar with safe radiographic techniques to reduce radiation risk & MR safety for patients.

Work Experience:
Post-qualifying experience;
I joined the current hospital on the 18th of March 2020 before my graduation. My graduation ceremony was taken long period due to Covid -19 pandemic. I graduated on the 14th of August 2020 and now I have more than 2 years post qualification clinical experience in Nawaloka Hospital, Sri Lanka.
I have worked with Computed Tomography, Theater Radiography, fluoroscopy, Plain Radiography, and Dental radiography in a current setting for more than 3 years. I’m working in the CT imaging section as a Lead Radiographer ( more than 2 years) and I have completed over 15,000 CT Procedures. I’m excellent at performing all the CT procedures such as CT angiogram (Coronary Angiogram, CTPA, Lower Limb Angiogram, Carotid and Cerebral Angiograms, Renal,), CT guided biopsy, CT Myelogram, CT Colonogram, and Venogram.
Other than the CT procedures, I am a team player in Orthopaedic care (over 1000 theatre imaging procedures). Usually, I engage with ORIF, MUA, and PFN in Orthopaedic theatre and work with GU surgeons for the PCNL.
I have done moreover 1000 fluoroscopy investigations such as HSG, IVU, MCUG, Fistulogram, Urethrogram, and barium studies.
I have done over 15,000 of Plain Radiography (Basic & Special Projections) and Dental Radiography ( Bitewing X-Ray, Periapical X-Ray, Occlusal X-Ray, Panoramic X-Ray)
Communication skills;
I have effective communication skills verbal, and writing. Also, I have good interpersonal skills. I’m dealing with Bio-medical Engineers, Medical Officers (ETU/ICU/WD/THEATRE), Hospital Managers, Nurses, Radiology Assistants, Medical Coordinators, Public Relation Officers, Consultant Radiologists, and other healthcare professionals in my current settings every day.
I can demonstrate a high level of patient care, able to cope with the diversity of patients' needs. I have adequate patient cooperation with language barriers, Babies, and Unconscious patients. I have had many positive experiences in those conditions.
• One day a Chinese patient had come to our department for doing an HRCT Chest, but he was very poor in English. I tried to explain the procedure to the patient using his guardian, but it was useless. No one was who knowing the Chinese language in my setting. Then I tried using google voice translation and it was useful I did the inspiration and expiration phases properly.
• Last month an aggressive, drunken patient came for a pelvis X-ray after an accident. He said I don’t want to move to the X-ray table you should take an X-ray without any pain to me. I called to patient's party and talk with the patient about his condition and I did the examination well.
Unsupervised examinations relevant to the level of training;
I can work without direct clinical supervision. As a lead radiographer in the CT unit, I have many experiences such as;
• The patient was observed with an advanced ILD/Lung atelectasis or fungal balls while doing an HRCT Chest, the additional prone images were taken to differentiate it.
• The patient was diagnosed with a liver lesion incidentally, additional delayed phases were taken to differentiate the lesion washout/enhanced.
• The patient was diagnosed with an ICH, the Cerebral angiogram was planned to exclude the positive aneurysm after informing the consultant physician.
• The patient was diagnosed with hydronephrosis and back pressure effect when doing a CECT abdomen and pelvis, delayed supine/prone studies should be done to diagnose the obstruction.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and training;
• I have good pathology knowledge and have case discussions routinely with other Radiographers and Consultant radiologists. I usually inform medical officers about incident-noted conditions of the patient (like SDH, SAH, ICH, EDH, Fractures, effusions, bowel obstructions, and hematomas). Also, I support to Consultant Radiologist in reporting the CT Scans.
• I’m training and supervising junior radiographers, student radiographers, and other trainees. Also, I have Teamwork experience in different work settings and have case discussions routinely with other Radiographers, Medical officers, and Consultant radiologists.
