I hold a degree in B.Sc Medical Radiological Technology and I have been working as a diagnostic radiographer since 1st march 2021. I can assure a top-class diagnostic accuracy and patient care in a professional manner. Currently I am working as a diagnostic radiographer at Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai which is one of the finest hospitals in Kerala, India. This hospital has vast varieties of modern medical facilities which gives me essential expertise and experience which is required to handle with both routine and emergency radiographic investigations by being an Integral part of a dedicated emergency team. This hospital offers 700 beds and superior quaternary care across more than 41 specialties and Super Specialities. Multiple imaging modalities such as MRI (3T), CT, DR, CR are available here and I have enough experience in all these modalities. Health care team of the hospital helped me in improving my practical skills and as a beginner I was able to learn a lot in the diagnostic imaging. Principal duties, responsibilities and skills in this radiology department performs 25-35 MRI scans,40-50CT scans and 250 radiographs per day. This plenty of radiological procedures helps to instills in me with expertise and ingenuity to master these significant procedures and handle enormous amount of work with uncompromising standard of diagnostic procedures and service. The work made me to have a humane approach to understand feelings, emotions and psychological needs of the patients undergoing diagnostic investigations. As a vital member of the radiology department I took the responsibility for generating finest radiographic images very crucially understanding that treatment is often based on the images produced. Being able to handle the frustrated and pressure situations of taking too many emergency cases in addition to routine sessions and profound wisdom of anatomy, physiology and pathology and the numerous medical specialties as required in areas of responsibility. I am well organized and have a good presence of mind, which produces effective outcomes. The scan reports and patient informations are kept confidential from patients and only Doctors are allowed to share those scan informations. I make sure that the right person is subjected to a radiographic examination each time by cross-checking their full name, date of birth and identification number. I explain the procedures to them and give proper instructions to be followed during the procedures. At the time of patient preparation, I take their medical history and ask them the mandatory scan related questions and make sure the patient's signed consent letter. Lab test results such as eGFR values should be checked before the contrast enhanced radiological studies. Then proceeds the procedure with the patient only if the test results are within the normal limits and test dose should be done thereafter and observed for any allergic reactions. By having a very pleasant and friendly approach to all patients, it would be helpful in their positioning and preparation for each test which is decisive to produce artefact free images. I am well aware of the MHRA safety regulations for MRI safety and have fruitful working knowledge of MRI, CT and radiation physics. I am able to minimize the radiation risk for patients and radiographers by using safe radiographic exposure techniques because of the familiarity with the radiation safety protocols given by IR(ME)R.
